Do you know about the free service for U.S. industry to track manufactured product requirements around the world?
Meet “Notify U.S.” online at: www.nist.gov/notifyus/
This web-based e-mail alert service offers U.S. entities (citizens, industries, organizations) an opportunity to review and comment on proposed foreign technical regulations that can affect their businesses and their access to international markets.
As background, Notify U.S. is provided by the U.S. Inquiry Point for the World Trade Organization Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (WTO TBT). The Inquiry Point is also the Standards Information Center at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and provides research and information on U.S. and foreign standards, technical regulations, and conformity assessment for non-agricultural products (and marking, labeling, and packaging requirements for agricultural products).
