Nicholas Markey-Riddell | Senior Safety Manager | altafiber, Hawaii Telecom, CBTS, & Agile Network
Nicholas started with the Cincinnati Bell (now altafiber) in 2016 as a Safety Manager focused on operations. Since then, altafiber acquired several companies and grown exponentially, which left us with a need for a singular and scalable safety strategy and safety management system. His current role, Sr. Safety Manager was created to create uniformity throughout the organization and lead a team of safety professionals at various sites, states, and countries to implement and sustain this strategy. One of his passions is creating a safe and healthy culture within the altafiber network, and he is extremely lucky to have a great team of individuals supporting our team through all parts of the organization up to the executive management team.
Before joining altafiber in 2016, Nicholas was in law enforcement as a state agent for a local casino, where he developed a passion for law and legislation compliance. While working, he attended Eastern Kentucky University and received a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health.
When he’s not working, Nicholas enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids. You can find them boating and enjoying time on the lake with friends and family. He also enjoys carpentry, fishing, and DIY projects.
