ISO 50001: Energy Management Standard

December 5, 2014 @ 7:30 am - 9:30 am

$25.00

SEDA-COG’s Energizing Our Region Breakfast Seminar

Several nationally and internationally recognized programs are available to help your organization improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and improve your bottom line.  ISO 50001 is based on the management system model of continual improvement also used for other well-known standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality) or ISO 14001 (Environmental). This makes it easier for organizations to integrate energy management into their overall efforts to improve quality and environmental management.  Smaller organizations may benefit as fully from EPA’s EnergyStar program, which is similar in principal to but less rigorous than ISO 50001.

This seminar will provide basic information on both ISO 50001 and EPA’s EnergyStar program.  It is designed to help you decide whether either program is right for your organization.  Presenter, Ralene Molina-Kreiser – Certified Practioner in Industrial Management Systems, ISO 50001 Auditor, PennTAP, will describe the frameworks for organizations to:

  • Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
  • Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
  • Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
  • Measure the results
  • Review how well the policy works, and
  • Continually improve energy management
