Product Certification Requirements in Russia: GOST-TR Certificate
October 23, 2013 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
With the recent passage of agreements establishing normal trade relations with Russia, American manufacturers have 1101an opportunity to begin exporting to Russia at a very opportune time. Russia is the ninth largest economy in the world by nominal value and the sixth largest by purchasing power parity. The Russian economy features 140 million consumers, a growing middle class and 2011 estimated imports totaled $322.5 billion. The Russian economy is growing and is driven by unlimited infrastructure needs. Adding to the demand is the fact that Russia will have the eyes of the world on it as it hosts the 2014 Winter Olympics and 2018 World Cup.
To take advantage of the increased exporting opportunities that now exist, American manufacturers must meet the Russian Federation’s product registration requirements, including the new GOST-TR mark, which is replacing the GOST-R mark. The GOST-TR or GOST-R marks are a requirement for nearly every product exported to Russia and signify that exported products have complied with the safety, technical and quality standards set by the Russian Federation.
Keystone Compliance, a regulatory compliance lab in New Castle, PA, works with manufacturers to assist them through the Russian certification process. SAP&DC is partnering with Keystone Compliance to provide a seminar for manufacturers to learn more about the GOST certification process. Topics to include an overview of the Russian market and the opportunities that exist, details of the GOST-TR and GOST-R marks, overview of the certification process and tips on how to streamline the product registration and exporting process. This seminar is highly recommended for any manufacturers interested in the new opportunities that now exist in exporting to the large but growing Russian economy.
Who should attend? Traffic managers, purchasing managers, shipping/receiving personnel, compliance officer, sales managers, customer service managers, and anyone involved/concerned with international shipments.
