Williamsport Inventor’s Club – “Getting Help with Your Invention”

February 26, 2014 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

The Williamsport Inventor’s Club is pleased to bring Shane Cohen to Williamsport as the guest speaker for its February Meeting.  Shane is manager of Engineering Development Services for the Bucknell Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

Shane will talk about how engineering resources at Bucknell (students/ prototyping labs/ class projects/ faculty) can help entrepreneurs in product development, and when it is appropriate to engage these resources. He’ll also touch on how the SBDC can help inventors recognize whether or not they actually are entrepreneurs.

The SBDC is part of a statewide network and national program of service centers that provide entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills they need to start and grow their own businesses.  Bucknell’s SBDC is the first center in the country to be hosted by an engineering college and its clients connect with the technical expertise, class projects and laboratory facilities of a nationally renowned program.  The SBDC’s specialty Engineering Development Services (EDS) provide entrepreneurs, manufacturers and technology firms with diverse technical assistance that help them develop and commercialize innovative products.   To learn more, go www.Bucknell.edu/SBDC.

Attendance is free and open to the public; however, registration is required.  Guests and potential new members should join Keith Bloodgood, Club President, for a brief pre-meeting and group orientation at 5:00 p.m.
