SUMMARY:How to Prepare a CMMC System Security Plan
DESCRIPTION:One of the central documents needed for CMMC certification is your System Security Plan (SSP). This detailed document spells out how each of the 110 requirements of NIST SP 800-171 (the foundational CMMC standard) are being met by your organization. Your SSP will be one of the first things a CMMC assessor will review for certification\, and it needs to be done right. \nThis webinar will explain how to build a comprehensive SSP that addresses all of the requirements for CMMC Certification. We’ll cover the following: \n\nWhat is the purpose of an SSP and where do the requirements for this document come from?\nWhat are the topics to be addressed and how should it be organized?\nHow detailed should it be for the assessment?\nWho should be responsible for developing and maintaining the SSP?\nHow often should the SSP be updated?\n\nJoin IMC and our third-party partner Core Business Solutions as we look inside this foundational CMMC document that can make or break your assessment. \nRegister

SUMMARY:The Heavy Lift of CMMC - Documentation
DESCRIPTION:To successfully pass a CMMC assessment\, you’ll not only need to have the right technologies and follow the right processes\, but you’ll have to show your compliance through documentation. The CMMC assessors have been trained that “if it’s not documented\, it doesn’t exist”. In this webinar\, we’ll lay out a plan to properly document your CMMC program including: \n\nWhat specific documents need to be developed to meet CMMC requirements?\nWhat is a Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) and how should it be used?\nHow many policies and procedures are needed?\nHow should policies be organized and what topics must be included?\nHow should CMMC documentation be controlled and how often should they be updated?\n\nJoin IMC and our third-party partner Core Business Solutions as we look through the various documents that need to be put in place to successfully pass a CMMC assessment. \nRegister \nWhen asked what MEP/PTAC referred you to this event\, please type IMC.

We’ll address: \n\nWhich CMMC requirements involve technology and which are organizational processes?\nWhat technical decisions will companies face when preparing for CMMC?\nIn what cases can an external IT expert be helpful?\nCan CMMC certification be achieved without an IT staff on the payroll?\nWhat are the pros and cons of hiring your own IT staff?\n\nJoin IMC and our third-party partner Core Business Solutions as we discuss the “IT skills-gap” common to so many small businesses. \nRegister \nWhen asked what MEP/PTAC referred you to this event\, please type IMC.

SUMMARY:The Real Risk is Not to Innovate
DESCRIPTION:The Real Risk is Not to Innovate\n(1-hour\, in-person) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe case for innovation and a clear\, targeted strategy for planning and implementation that will help small- and medium-sized mature enterprises (SMMEs) thrive through reinvention and renewal.\nIn contrast to large companies\, SMMEs are on their own to win or lose in the marketplace. They may lack the relative economies of scale and scope\, available to large companies\, to understand and invest in innovation. Often they are in a position of sustained disadvantage with no perceived path of renewal. \nAs SMMEs approach maturity\, it is common for them to choose to only maintain what they believe to be the safety of maturity attained rather than to opt for a strategy that also includes constant reinvention and renewal. But as Bruce Vojak argues\, this path of seemingly least risk and least resistance can be the most detrimental to the company in the long run. \nRegister \nThe real risk is to not innovate. \nBruce makes the case to owners\, advisors\, executives\, and leaders—as well as those in the trenches—of the value of innovation: why it’s worthy of investment and what it can do for the health and longevity of a company. He also details how innovation\, and thus reinvention and renewal\, can be most effectively and efficiently implemented. With case studies and narrative examples drawn from their time in industry and the academy\, he will present a valuable strategy guide specific to SMMEs and to one of the biggest existential dilemmas they encounter. \nSpeaker\nSpanning a career at the intersection of business and technology\, Bruce Vojak has experienced and explored innovation purposefully and variously\, first established as a successful technology practitioner and executive in industry and later\, in academia\, conducting groundbreaking research on the practice of breakthrough innovation across a broad cross-section of large\, mature companies and industries. \nHe is co-author of No-Excuses Innovation: Strategies for Small- and Medium-Sized Mature Enterprises (Stanford\, CA: Stanford University Press\, 2022)\, Serial Innovators: How Individuals Create and Deliver Breakthrough Innovations in Mature Firms (Stanford\, CA: Stanford University Press\, 2012). A Senior Fellow with The Conference Board\, he has served on the boards of JVA Partners\, Micron Industries Corporation\, and Midtronics\, Inc. \nBefore founding Breakthrough Innovation Advisors\, LLC\, Bruce served as Associate Dean and Adjunct Professor in the top-ranked Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana‐Champaign. Earlier\, he was Director of Advanced Technology at Motorola\, held research and business development positions at Amoco Corporation and was on the research staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He holds BS\, MS\, and PhD degrees in engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. \nRegister \n  \nAttendees will receive a copy of Bruce Vojak’s book\, compliments of the Innovative Manufacturers Center (IMC). \nNo-Excuses Innovation\nStrategies for Small- and Medium-Sized Mature Enterprises\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \nJoin us at 5:00 p.m. for a Networking Reception following the 4:00 p.m. program! \nEvent presented by Innovative Manufacturers Center (IMC) in partnership with Saint Francis University.
