SUMMARY:Getting it Right: Understanding the Impacts of DoD Cyber Compliance Enforcement
DESCRIPTION:Print PDFPrintPrime contractors are encouraged to invite their suppliers (and especially the suppliers’ executives) to attend this webinar to learn more about what these impacts and liabilities mean for their future business. \nAs the DoD turns up the heat on defense contractors to ensure compliance with DFARS / NIST / CMMC cybersecurity requirements\, prime contractors and their suppliers are exposed to increasing impacts and liabilities. In Webinar 18\, the Cyber Collaboration Center welcomes former federal prosecutor Mr. Kenji Price\, who recently retired as the United States Attorney for the District of Hawaii\, and previously served as an Assistant US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. \nNow in private practice with McDermott Will & Emery\, Mr. Price will discuss the legal impacts and risks involved in DoD contractor cybersecurity regulatory compliance\, including matters relating to False Claims Act (FCA) and the lesser known “Christian Doctrine” that can place liability on contractors in certain cases even when clauses are omitted from their contracts.  Business executives\, owners and leaders should clearly  understand what is required to meet DFARS\, NIST and CMMC regulations\, and the impacts of not properly meeting compliance.  We’ll explore the importance of discernment and how to ensure primes correctly understand the risks associated with their management of supplier compliance. \nIn addition\, experts from eResilience will provide examples of how some primes are helping their suppliers get education and assistance to help them manage supplier risk. \nRegister \nPRESENTERS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKenji Price\nPartner\, McDermott Will & Emery \n\nKenji M. SUMMARY:Tips for a Better Investigation and Root Cause: Going Deeper Than Human Error
DESCRIPTION:Print PDFPrintThe process of incident investigations is a common practice that all safety professionals are experienced with\, yet many of our investigations end up with the same root cause\, human error. Most incidents can be tied to human error and although it is an accurate use for root cause\, to make a change towards preventative safety actions you must look at additional layers. \nThe definition of a root cause is best said by the organization TapRoot as “The absence of a best practice or the failure to apply knowledge that would have prevented a problem.” Applying this explanation of a root cause\, human error can be better used as a casual factor in the investigation process. The use of different approaches can help reach a deeper level of investigation that can gravitate a safety program towards prevention versus correction. \nTakeaways: \n\nTop 5 tips for Investigations\nHow to avoid human error as a root cause\nThe benefits of using dashboards\nWays to conduct interviews\n\nRegister \nBy submitting my information\, I acknowledge and agree to Endeavor Business Media’s Terms of Service and to Endeavor Business Media’s use of my contact information to communicate with me about offerings by Endeavor\, its brands\, affiliates and/or third-party partners\, consistent with Endeavor’s Privacy Policy. SUMMARY:Implementing CNC Automation - Crawl\, Walk\, Run
DESCRIPTION:Print PDFPrintMany CNC job shops are struggling with labor and skills crises in order to keep their business viable\, which has become increasingly challenging with COVID-19. While automating CNCs may sound like an easy answer\, shop owners are concerned with the complexity of automating low-volume\, high-mix production requirements; easy change-over; and ROI. Additionally\, many shops have limited floor space along with employees that have no robotics programming experience. \nIn this webinar\, Universal Robots and VersaBuilt Robotics will discuss how to start the CNC automation journey with a crawl\, walk\, run approach. It will begin with the CNC operation process\, then address the role of operators\, and finish with the CNC automation process. \nRegister \nBy clicking above\, I acknowledge and agree to Endeavor’s Terms of Service and to Endeavor’s use of my contact information to communicate with me about offerings by Endeavor\, its brands\, affiliates and/or third-party partners\, consistent with Endeavor’s Privacy Policy.  In addition\, I understand that my personal information will be shared with any sponsor(s) of the resource\, so they can contact me directly about their products or services.  Please refer to the privacy policies of such sponsor(s) for more details on how your information will be used by them.\nSpeakers \n\nStuart Shephard\, Vertical Development Director\, Americas\, Universal Robots\nStuart (“Stu”) Shepherd’s career spans more than 40 years in automation\, including roles at General Motors\, FANUC Robotics\, Shepherd Solutions (a boutique automation business consulting firm)\, KUKA Robotics and Güdel AG.
