SUMMARY:OSHA Is Updating the HazCom Standard to Better Align with GHS
DESCRIPTION:Print PDFPrintOSHA recently published a long-awaited notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) that would update its Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom) to align with Revision 7 of the UN’s Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). The proposed revisions would have far-reaching impact throughout the chemical supply chain\, including the need for hazardous chemical manufacturers to A) reclassify certain chemicals\, B) reauthor safety data sheets (SDSs)\, and C) develop new shipped container labels; and for end-users to manage a wave of updated SDSs and shipped labels in their inventory\, and to update their own HazCom practices accordingly. The public comment period for the NPRM ends on April 19\, 2021. \nThis live webinar will review the background of the NPRM and the proposed changes\, taking a close look at significant changes\, such as the introduction of new classifications for several categories of chemicals\, changes to requirements for labeling\, and changes to select hazard and precautionary statements. \nRegister today for an in-depth look at OSHA’s NPRM so you can make sure your business and your people are well-prepared. \nThis webinar includes: \n\nA brief review of the HazCom Standard and the previous alignment of the Standard with GHS Revision 3 due via the 2012 final rule\nA discussion of proposed changes to classifications of several categories of hazardous chemicals and the industries most likely to be impacted by the changes\nAn explanation of proposed changes to labeling requirements for “small” and “very small” containers\, proposed updates to hazard and precautionary statements\, and proposed changes that would better align hazard communication requirements between the United States and Canada\nAn analysis of the next steps to expect following the NPRM and best practices that chemical users throughout the supply chain can take to prepare for future changes and maintain compliance with the HazCom Standard\n\nRegister \nBy clicking above\, I acknowledge and agree to Endeavor’s Terms of Service and to Endeavor’s use of my contact information to communicate with me about offerings by Endeavor\, its brands\, affiliates and/or third-party partners\, consistent with Endeavor’s Privacy Policy. SUMMARY:The Race to EHSQ Excellence - Winner Takes All
DESCRIPTION:Print PDFPrintOrganizations regularly set objectives for safety and quality\, and those objectives rarely target excellence or perfection. Instead\, they target goals for reducing injuries\, illnesses or quality-related incidents. However\, W. Edwards Deming\, the brilliant engineer and statistician who became a leading spokesperson for quality after WWII\, taught that when an organization accepts a certain level of imperfection\, that organization will always have imperfection. When it comes to reducing injuries and illnesses and achieving operational excellence\, the goal must be zero negative events. \nOne of the key challenges to achieving operational excellence is having a siloed approach across safety and quality departments\, which have historically run independent of each other. Technology can be a valuable tool to help break down these barriers and enable integration of processes\, people and teams. This presentation explores the integration of technology with the 5 key elements of excellence that can unlock immediate value across your operations. Sign up now and learn about the following: \n\nHow to create goals that don’t support a tolerance for failure.\nHow to explain all goals in terms of an EHSQ process.\nHow to highlight the convergence of safety and quality as a means of success.\n\nRegister \nBy clicking above\, I acknowledge and agree to Endeavor’s Terms of Service and to Endeavor’s use of my contact information to communicate with me about offerings by Endeavor\, its brands\, affiliates and/or third-party partners\, consistent with Endeavor’s Privacy Policy.
