Critical Supply Needs:
State Launches Manufacturing Call to Action Portal: With the on-going need for PPE and other critical medical supplies, the Wolf administration has launched a Manufacturing Call to Action portal, with the intent to:
- Match Pennsylvania manufacturers and distributors to fill specific supply chain needs to meet increasing demands for medical supplies and related products.
- Assist Pennsylvania manufacturers who have workforce needs or gaps and assist them with identifying skilled workers.
- Identify Pennsylvania manufacturers who can pivot or innovate to fulfill the demand for medical supplies and related products.
The administration welcomes manufacturers as described above with a Pennsylvania presence to inform the state of capabilities, needs, gaps or potential innovative solutions. To submit information, visit https://spportal.dot.pa.gov/ppeinventory/pages/mschain.aspx.
National Association of Manufactures Roundtable has released a new, detailed survey for businesses to identify specific ways you can provide or produce critically needed supplies. This survey / project is being conducted in partnership with federal agencies, including FEMA, to ensure it captures the supply information needed. Complete the survey – even if you have filled out similar previous surveys – by 9 p.m. TODAY!
Critical Supply List – Manufacturing Specs:
The maker community has created an open-source compendium of manufacturing blueprints and specs for many of the critical items on state and hospital critical needs lists. The specs are housed in a Google doc that has a great deal of information and is a good source of manufacturing information for making hand sanitizer, examination gloves, negative pressure rooms, and much more.

Supplier Scouting Services:
Manufacturers as well as federal, state and local agencies need critical products that are in short supply to ensure our nation’s health and safety as well as our national and economic security. Small and medium-sized manufacturers are especially challenged with sustaining operations considering current conditions and forced closings. There is a widespread challenge to find domestic manufacturing suppliers to meet present needs and there are also manufacturers eager to pivot to meet these needs.
IMC is partnering with the MEP National Network™ to connect U.S. manufacturers that have relevant production capabilities and capacities with other manufacturers – enabling them to fulfill current market and societal needs. We can then assist those manufacturers in actually delivering needed products.
If your company is at risk of shutting down due to supplier unavailability, IMC and NIST MEP may be able to help.
If your company is currently under order to shut down and you are interested in potentially pivoting or retooling to be able to supply critically needed items, IMC and NIST MEP may be able to help.
